Resolutions

I love to make New Years Resolutions.

A few years ago Gerry and I resolved to do things we were afraid of and it’s the one resolution we still continue to do to this day. One example was that Gerry was very shy and nervous to act in one of Brian’s movies but he did it. And loved it. And ended up making more movies with Brian because he pushed through his fear. Wahooo!

Then there was also the zip-lining. Gerry and I both were REALLY scared to do it and once we were at the end of the zip-line course we wanted to do it again! Wahoooo!

Last year I made resolutions to take better care of myself. On my list was:
-
I will strive for excellence, not perfection.
– I will be grace under pressure.
– I will pick my battles and let the rest slide off my back like water on a duck.
– I will turn off my computer at 6pm and not check my e-mail until morning.
– Most importantly … I will be kinder to myself.

I think I did a pretty good job of most of the things on this list. This last year I refurbished the 10th anniversary edition of HIAV and worked on the 2010 Calendar and while I worked hard on both projects I did it it a MUCHO healthier way and didn’t kill myself in the process like I have with past projects.

The only place I lacked was turning of my computer at 6pm. *laugh* but I did stop doing any official GoVegan.net business after 6pm and only used the computer recreationally after 6 so I think that’s a pretty good compromise.

So what are my resolutions for 2010? Well … I decided to have fun with it and have a contest!! If you’re a frequent reader of my blog you have a pretty good idea of who I am and what I do. I would love to hear your New Years Resolution suggestions for me.

E-mail them to sarah @govegan.net and my top 3 favourite suggestions will get a autographed copy of my 2010 Calendar.

I read your blog very regularly and you remind me a lot of my self, always “go, go, go” I’ve always gotta be doing something or working on something. And then you have to spend time with the puppies, and the husband/boyfriend and family and while its fantastic and wonderful, you don’t always get that time for yourself. I think you should resolve to have one day for just you be it once a week or once a month just a “sarah” day. just do what you want and don’t worry about projects and deadlines and house work. go to the spa. go sit at the park and meditate, take the whole day to sit on the couch and read and eat a batch of cookies. But just resolve to have more “me” time. 🙂
