VegNews is putting MEAT into vegan issues??

Ugh. Real dead animal ribs. ๐Ÿ™

Vegnews version - Photoshopped to look vegan. ๐Ÿ˜

I woke up at 6am from a bad dream and couldn’t get back to sleep… So I grabbed my iPad and pulled the bed covers over my head – as to not rouse the snoring husband with the glaring light that is iPad.

After checking my e-mail – I surfed over to my facebook page and noticed that Randy had posted a new QuarryGirl article about VegNews which is titled “VegNews is putting MEAT into vegan issues“.

Curious I clicked on the link and was gobsmacked at what I was reading … I actually thought I was dreaming for a second.

The article exposes the fact that VegNews has been using stock photos of meat dishes and presenting them as vegan dishes.

Seriously? What kind of fuckery is this?

One person commented on the QuarryGirl story that it was like รขโ‚ฌล“looking at a nudie magazine and then being told that the model was underage.รขโ‚ฌย The whole thing is just gross. ๐Ÿ™

Such poor judgement on their part. I would encourage VegNews to issue a full apology (sans any excuses) and vow to support their community by using vegan food photographers from this moment on.

BTW. All of the photos in How It All Vegan (10th anniversary edition) were prepared, styled and photographed by me.ร‚ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s a great way to put it, in terms of porn. A medium everyone is sure to understand!

As for this whole mess, hopefully VegNews will see the error of their ways.

Afterall, a hoard of angry vegans is the last thing anyone wants. We can get downright vicious!

I think an apology is the best way to go with this, especially given how quick us vegans are to social network the hell out of such things!

I’d hate to see the magazine fold for this as they’ve done some great work for the community overall. I’m just not sure how their judgement led them down this road.

It’s not something I’ve ever thought about doing with T.O.F.U. magazine.

People use information like this to try to discredit the veg community. I love Vegnews but this is such a huge letdown.
