Vegan Oprah

Did you watch the vegan Oprah show yesterday? What did you think?

If you missed it there are some clips on her website that you can view HERE.

As a long-time vegan I found the show to be frustrating but on the positive side I think Oprah always does a great job of planting seeds.

While the show was not what I personally thought it should be or could be … I think Oprah has opened the dialogue door a little wider and that’s a good thing.  🙂

I don’t know if Oprah has a follow up vegan show planned but I would love to be on her show!! I love Oprah. You don’t understand. I LOVE OPRAH!! I’ve never missed a show. I know you think I’m exaggerating but since she first aired in Sept of 1986 I have been a rabid fan. 4pm is Oprah time. Everyone knows not to disturb me during my “Oprah time”. 🙂

If you could take a few minutes to write to Oprah about me and my cookbooks and how the books have impacted your life … perhaps that will be the little push it will take to get  me on the show. Please tell your friends, ask your neighbors. Let’s make this happen!!

    Hi Sarah,

I’m a huge fan of yours and have been cooking solely out of your cookbooks for a little over a year and a half… and i’ll never go back to other cookbooks… EVER! 🙂 Since I am such a big fan of you and your work… I’ll write to Oprah and give her the best reference/promo letter a fan can send! I unfortunately don’t share the same enthousiasm for Oprah as you do… but I can totally relate with you and how much you love her, because I love you! I hope you can make it to her show 🙂

P.S. I just read your post on how well the Karmavore event went. I was there… but was too shy to say anything more than “cool! I’m a fan!” when I met you… dork. lol… Anyways, it was a pleasure to go to the event and meet you… and I’m totally enjoying the vegan purse I got at the silent auction! Did you enjoy the CD I gave you (Five Alarm Funk)? They’re playing in Victoria on Feb 4th… don’t miss out!

    Cheers, Sophie

…..Oprah gave a nice squeaky clean version of the world of meat. Far too one sided for me. Better than nothing, but I found the slaughterhouse bit appalling, what a misrepresentation. They should have gone to a chicken farm too!
