I’m coming to San Fran for a holiday at the beginning of Nov … and thought maybe we could plan a Vegan Meetup? Or maybe there is already one going on?? Anyone have any hook-ups?
If there isn’t already something going on … maybe we could all meet somewhere for a visit? What do ya think? Any ideas? I’d like to find a place that is casual but can deal with a bunch of people showing up. That way we don’t need “warn” the kitchen. You know what I mean? Maybe a bar or coffee shop?? And if possible I would love it to be a place owned by a vegan… so we can throw our support their way. 🙂
I’m totally open to ideas!! Lemme know. ** please note ** we won’t have a car and we’re staying near The Castro so somewhere within walking/taxi distance would be great. 🙂

You have to go to Herbivore! It’s the greatest vegan restaurant in the universe.
I live in SF and Souley Vegan is a must. As is the new Cinnaholic in Berkeley too.
In SF your best bet is Herbivore, Patxi’s (Unreal deep dish authentic Chicago vegan pizza with Daiya), The Plant (best veggie burger in the world), or any of the million Asian restaurants.

I agree with Mike;you definitely need to try Souley Vegan and Patxi’s.
Once you get a definite date for coming to San Franciso let me know, I’d love to come visit.

I’d love to meet up! And I super enthusiastically recommend Gracias Madre in the Mission if you haven’t been there yet! It’s walking distance from the Castro, and never that busy at lunchtime. Of course, you can always come visit the VegNews offices, too! 🙂
Thank you Gabrielle. I think Graias Madre might be perfect and it’s only about a 15 minute walk from where I’m staying. I’m going to e-mail them. 🙂
You won’t regret it! SF food offerings continue to blow my mind, but Gracias Madre keeps calling me back and has never disappointed. And the fact that it’s all vegan is more cool than I can possibly express.
I would love to meet up with, my girlfriend has all your books and cooks with them all the time. She would love that! Hopefully Gracias Madre will work out!
