GoVegan Calendar – Dec

How is it Dec already? When did that happen? *laugh*

I really like this months photo … the inspiration came from these vintage magazine soup ads. As I was doing research for the calendar I kept running across “soup for lunch” ads and I thought they were adorable. Rudee from SSOV did a great job with the art-work.

I love the BEAUTIFUL Bettie Page dress I’m wearing. I’m so glad I kept this one because I don’t see it for sale on the website anymore … Although I haven’t worn it out anywhere yet. Hmmmm. I think Gerry needs to take me somewhere fancy.  πŸ™‚

The glasses are my actual reading glasses and they are by LaFont. The necklace is a vintage piece that I’ve had since high-school and the polkadot apron is also vintage. Speaking of aprons; in an attempt to “clean house” a little I recently started selling some of my vintage apron collection and you lucky ducks can purchase them in the Sarah’s Place store.

The amazing green bowls are from Flavour Design Studio and the recipe for Margo’s Veggie Peanut Stew is soooo yummy and perfect for this time of year. Everyone!! Let’s all thank Margo for sharing her fabu recipe with the rest of the class. πŸ™‚

After we shot the photo everyone kept telling me how much I looked like Tina Fey pretending to be Sarah Palin … I was like “You are crazy! I don’t look like either of them!” but now that I look at this photo … hmmmm.

I kind of see it.  πŸ™‚

So that’s it for the 2010 calendar! I hope you enjoyed the 2010 GoVegan calendar as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

BTW – You can get copies of the *new* 2011 GoVegan Calendar at most bookstores in N.America and if you’d like an autographed copy you can purchase them HERE at the Sarah’s Place store.

With the year almost over I need to start thinking of new-years resolutions for 2011. Have any good ideas for me???

Best gift for the kids in your life!!

This is a re-post from a week ago …
I realized after I made this post; that it was American Thanksgiving weekend and that some of you may have missed this review … so I decided to re-post. I don’t want any of you to miss out on the Monkey Bunch fun. πŸ™‚

If you have a kidlet in your life and you’re not sure what to get them … I HIGHLY recommend a Monkey Bunch CD. It’s a fantastic alternative to all those cheesy kids albums your kids force you to listen to over and over again.

The album(s) have all the heart, joy and inside grown-up jokes of a well crafted 70’s Sesame Street skit. It has the crazy zany wordplay of a vintage Spike Jones album and best of all it’s REAL music played with REAL live instruments. Great fun for the kids and REALLY great for multiple listening for adults. I would say up to the age of 13 (13 being the age when most kidlets become woefully snarky) would enjoy this cd. πŸ™‚

THE MONKEY BUNCH are comic genius Shoshana Sperling, musician/songwriter Maury LaFoy and their musical friends Γ’β‚¬β€œ and they are here to change the way that you think of childrenÒ€ℒs music!

THE MONKEY BUNCH is for parents who love music Γ’β‚¬β€œ and want their kids to do the same.

These cd’s are in heavy rotation in my car – and I don’t even have kids!! *laugh* Sure you could download their album from itunes … but giving a young-one an actual physical item that they can hold in their hands and treasure for years is a wonderful gift. Remember how you felt the first time you held your new GREASE soundtrack album on X-mas morning?? I still have my album!!

Both Monkey Bunch Cd’s are available HERE in the GoVegan store. For a limited time – purchases over $20 will receive a free 2011 GoVegan Calendar!! πŸ™‚

Thetis Lake

Had a great hike around Thetis Lake yesterday with my boys … Fergus found something dead to roll around in (ugh).

And I ended up having a full blown panic attack during the hike. WTF? It’s been a while since I had a panic attack and being in the middle of nowhere when it happens is no fun. We stopped hiking and Gerry held me tightly (like a swaddled baby) and it eventually passed.

I came home to find a few new sales via the new Sarah’s Place store. Yippee!!

And I spent the rest of the afternoon packing up products to ship. πŸ™‚

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to look around the new store … please do.

I add new stuff every day and a lot of the items are one-of-a-kind – meaning that once they are gone. They are GONE!

I also added some coin banks! Remember when I saved up $375 by only depositing $2 and $1 coins into my can!!

Well now you can save $$ too! I only have a few of each coin can in stock so get them while you can.  πŸ™‚

Do these boots make me look fat?

Day 130 … whoops! I fell off the 365 wagon there for a second and missed a few days. The snow kind of threw me for a loop plus I’ve been working really hard on getting my new store Sarah’s Place up and running that I lost track of the 365.

During the recent snowstorm – the heavily salted sidewalks were hurting poor Fergus’s toes.

We’d try to take him for a walk but as soon as we hit a salt patch he’d stop in his tracks, give a little whine and lift up his paw. It was so sad.

We bought these boots (that velcro on) at Chez Terry in Fairfield and they work great. It took Fergus a little while to figure out how to walk in them … but once we got going he was great!

YAY for boots!
