Not much …

… has been going on at The Kramer house. Well, nothing worth writing about anyway … The weather is starting to get really cold and with the change in the season we find ourselves in DEEP hibernation mode. When Gerry was sick with Swine a few weeks back we started watching The Wire and we’ve managed to plow through all 5 seasons in those few short weeks. Sometimes as many as 5 episodes a night. *laugh*

The Wire has been on our “to do” list for a long while and it’s AHmazing. I found the first couple of episodes confusing to watch because they drop you right in the middle of a complex story and I thought I’d never get into the storyline … but it got it’s hooks into me and wouldn’t let go. Love love love it!

We did  manage to drag ourselves out of the house on Sunday and went for a nice long hike around Thetis Lake. We saw this dude surfing on the lake … it was really weird.
photo 2-30Fergus is at his happiest when we’re in the forest. He gets to run around and put all his “terrier” skills to good use. He never catches anything but that doesn’t stop him from trying. He also likes to find dead things and roll in them. Usually I’m able to stop him before that happens but this time around the lake he got a good roll in something rotting before I could get to him. Poor Gerry had to ride with stinky Fergus on his lap on the drive home …

Needless to say – I gave Fergus a good long bath to get the death stink out of his fur.

Dogs are awesome.  🙂

In other news: I’m on my way to Vancouver this weekend for the Karmavore Fundraising event for Hearts on Noses Pig Sanctuary. With the price of your ticket you get a copy of my 2010 Calendar and there will be free treats to eat, prizes, etc. It’s going to be lots of fun. Don’t let me down Vancouver!! I almost never do events in Vancouver because the turn-out is always so lame. Is it me? Are you trying to tell me something?  🙂 Or are you just in hibernation mode?? Well put on your rubber boots and come down to Karmavore! I don’t want to be the only one eating cupcakes!! If your credit card is maxed and you can’t buy tickets online … tickets will also be available at the door!

SEE YOU SOON VANCOUVER!!

    Hey Sarah,
Just to let you know, that guy on Thetis Lake is Stand Up Paddle Boarding (or SUP for short)…it is super popular in the South Pacific, Hawaii and Aus, and is slowly becoming a bit more popular here. (but still pretty rare, when we take our boards out people often ask lots of questions and tell us they have never seen it before.)
You can do it on calm waters or surf them and it is a great core work out. I enjoy the calm waters myself, as it is very peaceful and you get an amazing view of the fish and plants in the water while standing up! Kind of like Kayaking with a new perspective!
If you ever get a chance to try it, I highly recommend it.

P.S. I am Kate, Mark’s daughter by the way…as in the girl who lived on Davie St with Bonnie and Tash…I read your blog regularly, it is awesome!
