When we bought our beloved Smart Car 4 years ago it cost us $12 to fill up the car when it was empty.
Flash forward to today…
I paid $28 for a full tank of gas. I almost had a heart attack. Yeesh.

I’m feeling it too, on my scooter.
When I got it in 01, the most I paid for a tank of gas was $4.69 and yesterday I paid $7.77.
Now, $28 and $7.77 really aren’t much compared to what other people pay, but all things being relative, YEESH!
I have a fuel-efficient car with a medium sized gas tank and it cost me over $50 to fill up on regular unleaded. CRAZY!
Here in the boonies everyone has big trucks & 4×4’s. They need them for our roads(gravel), to get to work in the bush etc. They are really feeling the pinch!!!
I have a Dodge Dakota (2002, 6 cyclinder model). I bought it because I needed it for work, back in 2002. Now I don’t need it at all, can’t really sell it (without giving it away) and, of course, still have to fill it at the gas station. Well, at least if I want to drive.
I live in Southern California. The low grade gas is averaging about $4.55/gallon and filling my tank will set me back about $90! I’m single but the average family (of four) in my area can easily run up an $800 monthly gas bill.
Go carless! It’s great!!
Are you all kidding?
In Europe a medium tank of gas will make you faint…
