I’ve tagged this book “Plagiarism” and “Stolen Book Title” on Amazon. Add your name to those tags, and add your own! Hours of fun…

  2. Cody says:

I’m pretty sure legal action could be taken. It’s way more than coincidence could ever possibly be. Not saying you have to sue them for thousands of bucks, but you can probably get them to change the title.

  3. Colleen says:

I’ve added my thoughts/support on the Amazon website, too. I find this *really* offensive. Thanks for posting this, Sarah.

  4. mary-morgan says:

wow. some people are so thoughtless. you know they know about isa and her book. and they did this anyways…that makes them look rathr ignorant.

  5. schramm says:

i added those, and “go vegan or go f yourself”

    it’s 2010, who needs a “vegetarian cookbook”

    go back to 1976, pricks!

  6. Sarah says:

That’s retarded. How did they get away with that?

  7. There are laws out there to protect title, ideas, etc. These people should try and think of a new title or at least get permission from Isa first. Not cool, not cool at all.

  8. Lou says:

Schramm, I find your “go vegan or go f yourself” comment rather offensive. While I also think that veganism is better, it *is* a personal choice, much like religion. You can’t tell people off just because they don’t share your beliefs (mind you, jeez, that’s how wars start, don’t they?). Some people might only be ready for vegetarian meals twice a week. Others might be ready for full vegetarianism. Others might be gradually transitioning to veganism. Everyone at their own pace. Unfortunately, your attitude would only turn people off, and that defeats the purpose, doesn’t it? We *want* people to stop/reduce eating animal products as much as they can, right? So let’s try to make it appealing, not a turn off! My two cents. And a half. 😉

Oh, and Sarah: Yeah, that’s totally wrong. 🙁

  9. Chris M says:

Wow, just for that, I’m putting away the Veganomicon for a week and cooking out of only Vegan with a Vengeance for the week.

  10. Crys T says:

Pretty sure you can’t copyright titles, so I’m not sure there’s much to be done, other than shame them into thinking up a new name.

  11. Holly says:

A bit off-topic, but not only is the title a horrible rip-off, the cover photo looks absolutely disgusting too. Nothing about this book looks good!

  12. Mmm, this is really strange as apparently the publisher is Grub Street who are the people who published Vegan with a Vengeance in the UK too?

  13. robiewankenobie says:

“We happen to be the publishers here in the UK of Vegan with a Vengeance. Vegetarian with a Vengeance was originally published in Danish in Denmark. We have translated the book into English and the translation into English of the title is Vegetarian with a Vengeance. We are not ripping off anything.” — Grub Street
