Dna my dog…

I did a dna test (via DNA my Dog) for Fergus a few weeks ago and the results are in! Sadly Gerry is NOT the father but he is the Daddy.  🙂

So here’s the breakdown:

High levels of poodle. That’s pretty obvious.

Medium levels of Yorkshire Terrier. At first I thought it was a bit of a stretch but now I can see it …

Medium levels of Lahasa Apso. Totally.

And lastly … wait … for … it … a small amount of NEWFOUNDLAND!

Say whaaaat? I almost fell off my chair when I read that but it does explain why my little 13lb poodle fearlessly jumps into the ocean and loves swimming through rough water like he belongs there. It’s the Newfy in him!! 🙂

It was fun to have his DNA tested (opening the envelope felt like x-mas morning) and now I can use this useful information about his make-up to look out for breed specific health issues.

But I do think that DNA my Dog got one thing wrong … he OBVIOUSLY has a little Falcor in him too. 🙂
