Boobs, Paps and bowling…

I went for my yearly physical today which includes a full pap and breast exam… Thank dog I went because my doctor found a lump in my right breast. It is nothing to panic about – he is sending me for more testing and we’ll see what happens from there. I am so blessed to live in Canada.

The reason I’m blogging about this is because I want all my vagina sisters reading this to make sure that you go for regular exams. A pap smear can save your life and while you’re there make sure your doctor includes a breast exam at the same time.

Hey, and while you’re on the phone making an doctors appointment to get a pap – why not make an appointment for a mammogram as well? 🙂

Since we’re talking about boobs and healtcare, etc … my friend Jane Wiedlin is involved with Bowling for Boobies which is an organization that raises funds to help provide financial assistance to woman in the US who are experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer.

If you feel like extending some help you can donate HERE. And since you’re in a charitable mood why not think positive thoughts about my boobs …  🙂

Thank you for being brave and posting about your boobie-boo-boo…I’m sending you lots of love, lots of good thoughts. I had a lump in my breast 6 years ago and it turned out to be, per medical parlance, “normal fybro cystic activity.”

Again, you have a lots of love on the airwaves….please let us know what happens. Lots of hugs for you!

Yes, you are extremely fortunate to live in a country with socialized medicine. My husband and I have a, kid you not, a $4000 US dollar deductible health care plan.

Best of luck with the tatas – positive energy headed your way.

I wish it were easier for us below the border to go to the doc/midwife for these things – but the cost is just so prohibitive for so many….
