Bra shopping…

…is so traumatic for me. The mirrors in department stores are never flattering and I never know what size to try. I end up walking into the change room with 50 bras and walking out in tears. I can never seem to find a bra that fits me well. Either the cups pucker or the straps are falling down or the bra is riding up. I HATE BRA SHOPPING!!

Well enough whining already. I’m 40 now. I’m not afraid to ask for help anymore or be naked in front of a stranger. I’ve had a mammogram. I’m a grown up damn it and I need help!

So today I marched over to Victoria Classic Lingerie and said “I need help finding a bra.” and I shit you not – within 10 minutes I was in a bra that was so comfortable and fit all my needs I felt like I had just put on a 2nd skin.

I bought 3 of these bras (name brand: Fit Fully Yours) on the spot. Thank you Victoria Classic Lingerie.

    Hi Sarah,

Damn, I hear you. I really feel I can say, without it being hyperbole, that my life changed when I got professionally fitted for a bra.

There’s a wonderful store in Toronto called Secrets from Your Sister. (Especially great for large busted women, like me.) The bras are expensive, but well worth it, and I actually found out what size I really am (opposed to what I thought I was… a very common mistake, I hear). I was used to wearing ill-fitting industrial-style bras.

I would recommend such a fitting to anyone, and I’m so glad you took the plunge! I’ll never go back!

    p.s. Maybe there’s a Breast Monologues performance in your future… 🙂

I’m glad you did it. I can reccomend having a professional feel you up just once in your life!
You’ll never ever have that weird ‘where’s my bra heading now?’ feeling again.
And let’s face it. What’s bad about a sweet lady telling you your skin looks so soft in the privacy of a changing room?

    I hear ya too!!!
Bra shopping has got to be the worst thing! I need a new one, but there are no shops where I live, so I’m stuck with the Sears catalogue trying to figure out what to get. Looking at how the bra is built, yada, yada. Wish I could get down island to a decent place to shop, grumble, grmble, …..

That’s the best bra shop in town. I’m so glad you liked it. Bra shopping use to totally freak me out and end me crying in the change room. Nothing ever fit.

That is until I found that shop. A good shop with professional and knowledgeable people makes all the difference. Now I’m excited when it’s time to get my endowment some extra support.

We ladies have it rough. Bras are stupid.

I have to say, things always end up much better when I swallow my pride (and embarrassment) and ask for help.

At this point in my life, I don’t want to spend my money on things that are going to let me down!

aaaaaaaawesome! stoked you didn’t end up feeling shitty – you deserve to feel as beautiful as you look.

i was fitted a while ago at the bay by this tiny peroxided woman with a whiskey voice and enormous hooters wearing a lab coat. it was rad, and i LOVE my bra, but this is the second time in a week i’ve heard rave reviews of vic classic. i think i’ll pop over there… is it next to the dentist’s office on fort?
