Yippee!! I just got in a shipment of Truth Belts.
I’ve been wearing their belts for years and I love love love them. These are high quality belts made by fantastic Canadian vegan belt company.
First we have the Ariel Belt – which is the cutest kids belt! It’s great because it is adjustable and will grown with your little-one. There is a red belt with elephants and a navy-blue belt with bears and letters. Adorable!! 🙂
Next we have The Dexter. Dexter is a type of cow (and a serial killer), but that’s as close to meat as this belt ever gets! A classic simple Unisex belt that is perfect with a pair of dress pants or jeans. I have it in brown and black.
The Waspy is one of my favourite belts. It’s completely adjustable, so will fit any pant that you may have. You can wear it around your hips or over a sweater around your waist! It has a flat buckle, so you’ll never have to worry about an unwanted bulge at the front of your stomach. The elastic in it makes it stretchy, plus is has a slider that allows you to adjust it even more!
The Seva is simialr to the Waspy in that it’s stretchy but this one has a bit of a fancier buckle. It looks beautiful with a pair of jeans or over a sweater, etc.
Come down to Sarah’s Place (533 Pandora Ave) and try them on or check them out online HERE.  I only have a few of each in-stock … so if you don’t see the size or the colour that you’re interested in – please e-mail me and I can order in for you. 🙂
Nala from BC Small Dog Rescue came to visit me today at the store. She’s such a sweetie pie …. she’s really shy and is working on her confidence.
She’s good around other dogs but is very shy. Fergus tried to get her to play but she’s still a little too unsure to do that yet. 🙂
She needs a fur-ever home! If you’re interested you can visit her profile HERE.
My buddy Jordan has started a community peer support group for individuals to have a safe and validating space to share their feelings about the experiences they have had in relation to non human animals.
Meetings are every Monday (6:30pm-7:30pm) at the Fernwood Community Centre (1240 Gladstone Avenue).
For more information please visit their facebook page HERE.
ATTENTION GOOD PEOPLE OF VICTORIA!!
Sarah’s Place (533 Pandora Ave) and Tattoo Zoo (1215 Wharf Street) will be closed Friday Sept 8th for our annual Corporate Retreat to BeerFest.
We will be back to business on Saturday!
A customer came in the other day and dropped off a pack of Savi Seeds for me to try … Now I’m obsessed! They look, smell and taste like nuts, but they are seeds.
Sacha inchi seeds (also known as the Inca Peanut) contain 7000mg of Omega-3 per serving, SaviSeeds offer 13 times more Omega-3 than wild salmon, not to mention they’re packed with complete protein and antioxidants. SaviSeeds are not only healthy, they also taste amazing in three mouth-watering flavors: cocoa kissed, karmalized and oh natural.
GET IN MY BELLY!! 🙂
Come down to Sarah’s Place (533 Pandora Ave) and grab a packet. If you can’t make it into the store you can also purchase them online HERE.
I recently went through my office and found a TON of memorabilia I don’t want anymore so instead of tossing it – I thought that having an auction to raise some $$ for different groups might be more fun!!
I will post a new item up every week and this week we are raising $$ for Sea Shepherd!
Up for auction is a blown up promotional poster for La Dolce Vegan. It’s approx 11×13 and is mounted on foam-board. I will autograph and kiss with lipstick this poster to the highest bidder!! 🙂
You can visit and bid on the auction HERE.
I have so many people asking me where to eat/visit when they come to Victoria so I finally got around to making a Sarah’s Vegan Guide to Downtown Victoria.
You can pick up a copy at Sarah’s Place (533 Pandora Ave) or download the PDF version of it HERE.
Let me know if you see any spelling errors. 🙂
Solstice Cafe are the best neighbours!!
I left a rack of clothing outside my store last night (guess I was in a hurry to get home) and they grabbed it for me and kept it safe. I don’t know where my brain is lately. Is this what being 43 is all about?? 🙂
If you’re downtown – please visit Solstice Cafe and buy a coffee/tea/treat or some soup (their soup is always vegan).
Where would any of us be without the support of good neighbours?? 🙂
Thank you Solstice!!
OH MY GOD! I just realized that it’s time to tell you about Sept’s calendar photo … but then I realized that I forgot to do Aug!! What is wrong with me?? I think I am doing too many things at once. I need a clone. 🙂
So let’s start with Aug. Whenever I make Lentil soup I sing the song “Poppa can you see me” only I change the lyrics to “Poppa can you feed me?” Get it? Lentil/Yentl. I know. I know. It’s a dorky joke but it makes me laugh …

We didn’t quite get the “looking up to heaven” look that Barbra is doing … but I was in a bad mood (about something I can’t remember) and the last thing I wanted to do was take photos that day. Now looking at it – I wish I had just gotten over myself and spent a little bit more time channeling my inner Barbra.
“Barbra can you see me??…”
Sept’s photo is hilarious. If you’re a thrift store junkie like I am – then you come across this Herb Alpert album in every single store.

I LOVE this era of album art. Scantily clad woman doing bizarre things that have nothing to do with the content of the LP. I wasn’t sure how I was going to cover myself in whip-cream …. but then I took a long hard look at the album and realized that she’s mostly covered in cotton batting. So I hit up my local fabric store and then to the dollar store for some shaving cream. Yup. Shaving cream. I figured shaving cream wouldn’t melt or be sticky and I was right. It worked perfectly!
I tried my best to give a “come hither – licking my finger” look … but that is soooo not my thing so instead we did “cheeky” in which which I’m an expert. 🙂 The hardest part about this shoot was keeping Fergus away from me. He desperately wanted to sit in my lap … poor poodle.
I can’t believe it’s Sept already… wow. The Summer of Sarah has been so epic and fun. I don’t want it to end yet!!
