… what a crazy couple of days! First off I said a sad good bye to German #2 & #3. I will miss you. 🙁 But we still have German #1 for another month so yay! 🙂Then I decided to jet over to Vancouver in search of wigs. I went all over town trying to find some decent wigs to wear for the calendar photos (we’re gonna have some fun with these photos) but couldn’t find anything but Value Village crap or Little Old Lady Hair. I finally went to a hooker/stripper store on Hastings called Model Express and found some really decent wigs at a reasonable price that I can actually style with hot-rollers. Yippee! I put them on when I got home and Gerry thinks I look weird with normal generic girl hair. He likes my crazy Jew hair.
I also had a nice visit with my parents (who I adore more and more each day) and I got to check out my Step-Mum’s Grammy (My teeth couldn’t tell if it was real gold or not) but it sure is fancy-pants fantastic!
I also had a meeting with someone who is going to work on a project with me that I think is going to be fantastic. I can’t talk about it just yet but I can tell you we ate a great meal at Foundation and the food was really yum but I just have to talk about the menu for a second … Seriously Foundation kids… You can be a hipster cool restaurant without having a hipster cool menu that makes no sense. Just describe your food in a simple and normal manner and nobody gets hurt and you can still keep your street cred. Your menu drives me crazy. 🙂
I also had a quick meeting with my publishers and I got to see a proof for VAGG and OHMYGOD is it ever cute!! I wanted to stuff it in my pocket and take it home. Eeeeek! Look at how tiny and cute it is!!
We also had a long talk about another project I’m going to start working on for Fall 2010. I can’t tell you what it is just yet but it will involve The Monkey Bunch and it’s going to be rad!!
After our meeting The Monkey Bunch and I went in search of food and we went to Gorilla Food a lovely raw cafe in the middle of downtown Vancouver. It’s a little hard to find as it’s below street level … but well worth the hunt.
A little sanctuary in the middle of the concrete jungle. 🙂
Excellent food – this was an alfredo pasta.
I had a pesto pizza.
This was a Guac and chip combo. Really yum.
The lovely folks at Gorilla Food treated us to some dessert. I think these are their chocolate fudge.
I have no idea what this was … but it was SO YUM!
Thank you so much Gorilla Food for the hospitality.
