This is my least favourite page in the calender …
Mostly because I’m a narcissist and I think I look like a creep. *laugh* I mean … that was the idea. I was supposed to look like one of those “Queen for a day” ladies.
But I just think I look weird. The blonde wig … WIGS me out. 🙂
Rudee did a great job of making the page look all dreamy and pageant like. I LOVED the dress I’m wearing (from Bettie Page Clothing) so much that I kept it.
And that gorgeous necklace is a beautiful vintage piece that I purchased in 1986 from an antique store to wear to my grade 12 grad. This is the only photo of me I have on grad night…
My grad dress was HANDMADE by the wardrobe mistress at my Dad’s theater.
I gave her a photo from a vintage magazine to show her what kind of dress I wanted (I was obsessed with 50’s fashion – funny how some things never change 🙂 and she measured me, took me fabric shopping and made me the dress from scratch. It was a BEAUTIFUL dress and it fit me like a glove.
It would probably only fit on one of my legs now *laugh* but I wish I still had it. I DO still have those shoes. Thank dog those still fit me …Â 🙂
I love that picture, you remind me of the excellent Julie Brown in The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun.
Oh you always look great, I have your lovely calendar in my Halifax kitchen 🙂 And I saw that dress in a Toronto shop, it’s so cute.
