Great read Sarah! I remember when I heard about Cyrus, the Rottie in the article. I was outraged! So was everyone I told. I can’t understand why people take their dogs out if they’re going to be away from their vehicle for hours. Especially in extreme weather. The dog did survive. The vets thought he might suffer from brain damage because he was left so long with temps in the car soaring over 50C. I think in the end, he turned out to be OK – Thankfully. A few weeks after the incident, I read in the Toronto Sun that the owner wanted Cyrus back saying that he had originally rescued him from a shelter and that he really loved the dog. If you love your pet, leave them at home. I think we all know that.
