Thank you all who posted about the Beep Juice Drink. I wish I could see what the old packaging looked like. Anyone have a photo or a carton of it in their basement?? 🙂
Now… who out there wants to send me a carton of Beep? I’m dying to taste it again… even though I remember it tasted like orange pop and dust mixed into one. Damn all this talk of 1% real juice has got me thirsty.
E-mail me if you can get me the goods.
Beep was an orange sugar water put out by the dairy board – specifically (sp?) Parmalat Dairy. Just another attempt by the dairy industry to get us hooked. As if the chemicals in milk aren’t enough – let’s fill our kids with sugar water….mmmmm!
🙂
I am late to the Beep debate but we had it on the east coast too!! Our staple foods at lunch time were Beep and a licorice. Oh, teenage eating disorders! What fun. I can see the package so clearly, just like a small milk carton, bright orange with the little chick. 🙂
Thanks for the memories!! I also remember a beverage called Hawaiian Punch, which came in a few flavors, a fruit and a mostly orange one. Do you remember that one?? – Thea
Hawaiian Punch is still being sold. I remember when it only came in those large cans(like tomato juice).
How about a nice Hawaiian Punch?
My mom would never buy it for me. In retrospect, it was probably a good thing.
Hello Sarah, just thought you’d like to know that me and my two sisters are on a vacation in Rome (from Calgary) and are laughing our asses off about Beep. I googled Beep and found your blog.
Even though we loved beep as kids, we have started using the word beep to describe crappy things. Ie, today we visited some ruins (somewhat crappy ruins) and my sister declared them to be the beep of ruins.
Ciao from Roma!

Check out my group on Facebook: “I Drank “Beep” — whaddaboutchoo?”
If anyone has found images…. please post.
I’ve been googling beep also; turns out it had some PRUNE JUICE in it…!!!?? Alterative motives by my mom to have a good, healthy colon, no doubt. But yeah… choices in school were milk & beep. amazing how many dumbasses chose the milk.
My understanding is that it is STILL sold on the east coast… i’m on a mission to see if I can ship a crate to Calgary . will join the facebook group & let you know.

I used to drink Beep all the time, one litre size, after a big night of roller skating or skate boarding. All my brothers and friends bought it at 7/11 in the early to mid 80’s. Props for the cool Blue Velvet poster – love that movie, have the VHS and DVD.
