All clear!

Just got home from the hospital where they did a check on the lump my doctor found during a routine exam and I am all CLEAR! Joy!  πŸ™‚

First they had me put on a scratchy, bleachy blue gown.

Not the height of fashion but I wasn’t the only one in the waiting room who looked like a Smurf. Then I waited my turn and did my best not to touch any magazines (magazines in doctors offices are so germy. Bleck). I passed the time playing Words With Friends on my iphone. Thanks KayVal, Jcwingbch and Xanadu for keeping me busy.  πŸ™‚

The mammogram is not painful. I promise. It’s a little uncomfortable (like someone is smooshing your boobs between 2 plates) but it’s over in seconds. It looks CRAZY in the video but it’s only a few seconds.

The technician marked the spot on my breast where the lump was with a very girly sticker …

Then I went back to the waiting room to wait (duh) for my ultra-sound. My brother texted me and we chatted back and forth. It helped me pass the time quickly and took away my nerves. Thanks Brother Ben.  πŸ™‚

The ultra-sound tech was AWEsome. She had crazy grey hair (like mine) and wore leopard printed reading glasses. My kind of lady.

She checked my breast. Talked to me about my tissue and why the doctor thought it was a lump that needed to be checked and then assured me that it was normal and nothing to worry about. That I do NOT have a cancer lump. My tissue is healthy and normal and I can go about my day with joy.  πŸ™‚

Texted Gerry right away and then breathed a sigh of relief. Turned on the car and Eye of The Tiger was playing … made me laugh out loud and then I cried a little. Tears of joy.

The reason IÒ€ℒm blogging about this is because I want all my sisters reading this to make sure that you go for regular exams. Early detection can save your life. Please call and make an appointment today.

Since weÒ€ℒre talking about boobs and mammograms, etc Ò€¦ my friend Jane Wiedlin is involved with Bowling for Boobies which is an organization that raises funds to help provide financial assistance to woman in the US who are experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer. If you feel like extending some help you can donate HERE.

Thank you for all your love and happy thoughts about my boobs. My boobs thank you.  πŸ™‚

Yay! Good news! My mom is a survivor of breast cancer, as is my mother-in-law. There’s nothing like early detection. Go and get your mammograms ladies!!!

Glad to hear your boob is ok πŸ™‚
I can’t say enough about the hospital staff either. Little things like the girly sticker she gave you, or when I had a blood test during my pre-op and she gave me a Bugs Bunny band-aid….it makes a huge difference.
