Agave Nectar

Ok. I must live in a cave or something because it wasn’t until recently that I was turned on to Agave Nectar. Have you tried it? It’s just like honey only yummier and without all the guilt.

Food Fight carries it as did my local healthfood store. Agave Nectar is extracted from the inner core of a cactus-like plant.

Go get some and make yourself a peanut butter and Agave sandwich and then dry your tears… because yes. It’s so good it will make you cry.

    It’s awesome! In the states, you can get it in a lot of regular supermarkets. mmmm….

    I’m glad you posted this Sarah. I’ve been seeing this mentioned a lot lately for some reason and had no idea what an agave was and why I would want the nectar. So, I guess you would use it as a form of liquid sweetener? Hmmm, I have a wicked sweet tooth.

    I love Agave Nectar. I bought it from Food Fight! My local health store carries it in big squeeze bottles. Tea tastes so good with it.

    Oh my gosh..agave nectar- I really like the dark variety..if you like it with peanut butter sandwiches you need to try it in peanut sauce – also excellent.

    Sweet Cardamom Peacans.
    One of my favorite snack foods is made from this product. I make these nuts is small batches but one could doudle or triple the recipe as well.
    1 Cup Paw Peacans (or any raw nuts)
    3 Tablespoons Agave Nectar
    1 1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
    1 Teaspoon Cardamom

    Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl until well blended. Spread evenly on lighted oiled cookie sheet. Broil until nuts turn dark brown. Let cool.

    I use this stuff all the time – it’s way tastier than rice syrup.
