Unalom

I was looking at my thumbs the other day and I thought … wow. These things are so plain. Time to decorate!

My friend Mikel and his wife April were coming into Victoria for a visit so I hit up Mikel for a new tattoo!

We were going to do both my thumbs but decided to do just one and save the other one for later …

Meet my Unalom. It’s a Thai Buddhist symbol to represent the path to enlightenment…

Doesn’t it look like it’s always been there?? I love it so much!! Thank you Mikel!!

Wow that is an awesome tattoo! Thanks for sharing. I just thought that it was a bad idea to tattoo any fingers. Sorry I guess it is ok as long as it does not go all the way around the finger. Something about wear not to mention the skin being thinner or something like that. Guess I read it somewhere.

this is beautiful! i love how it is placed on your thumb like that…as if it’s shooting out of you, projecting onto the world ahead of and around you!! dreamy!!

Hi! Could you please tell me where you got the tattoo idea and the meaning behind it? I love it, but would like some more info about it, before I consider getting it done! Thanks!!
