I was looking at my thumbs the other day and I thought … wow. These things are so plain. Time to decorate!
My friend Mikel and his wife April were coming into Victoria for a visit so I hit up Mikel for a new tattoo!
We were going to do both my thumbs but decided to do just one and save the other one for later …
Meet my Unalom. It’s a Thai Buddhist symbol to represent the path to enlightenment…
Doesn’t it look like it’s always been there?? I love it so much!! Thank you Mikel!!

Animal Advocacy Camp

Go Vegan! w/Sarah Kramer App

Hope you’re enjoying the Go Vegan! w/Sarah Kramer app.
A BIG thank you to everyone who wrote a review for iTunes. It helps us so much with where they place the app in the iTunes store. So thanks to everyone for all the positive reviews. 🙂
We’re about to do an update (to fix typos) and was wondering if you’ve found any errors. Please let me know if you see one: sarah@govegan.net
Here’s the errors we’ve found so far:
Apple Pie Pancakes
– in Ingredients. After baking powder it should say 1/4 tsp SALT. Right now it says 1/4 tsp flour.
Beauty and The Beet Borcht
– in Ingredients. It says stewed toms twice. 2 + 1/2 cups (should be Vegetable stock not stewed toms).
Oat Bread
– In Ingredients – should say 3/4 cup of oats. Right now it says 1/4 cup. `
Big Ben Lentil Burgers
– In step 2. the word “add” should be removed from the first sentence.

Journals
IÂ found a cardboard box FULL of 2012 GoVegan calendars. Eeeep! So rather then toss the calenders I decided to reduce, reuse and get crafty with them.
Each journal has been hand-made/cut/bound by me in my kitchen and contains approx 100 blank pages (made with re-cycled paper). Also included in each journal is a recipe from the calendar (see photos for details).
Cover is card-stock. Journals are 6×9 inches. Buy them HERE.

Chocolate and Perfume …
It must be Valentines because I just got in a shipment of Chocolate and Perfume!! I am thrilled to announce that I am now carrying SaraWen Perfumes!! I’m not normally a fan of perfume but these perfectly blended scents make my mouth water and more importantly make my husband growl …Â 🙂
CAKE OR DEATH – When you -must- have your cake or die! Decadent buttercream frosting and vanilla cake with a touch of spice over a darkened amber base.
BLACK APPLE: Sweet, red, ripe apples corrupted with poisoned honey and labdanum. A base of dark incense and roses completes the fragrance. Starts off fruity and innocent, then the darkness emerges.
AMBROSIA: Sweet chocolate drizzled with honey and topped with a hint of vanilla cream! In Greek mythology ambrosia was a honey-flavoured food of the gods that kept them immortal, and was also used used as a perfume for anointing. This scent is truly a feast for the gods!
LIONHEART: A nice unisex scent. The king lounges in his scented tent contemplating the next battle. He breathes in the heady fragrance of sandalwood incense and eastern spices as he reaches for a honeyed date on the silver platter beside him. A spicy, charming mixture of sandalwood, honey, and a hint of musk. This scent is inspired by King Richard of England, who was called the ‘Lionheart’.
VANILLA VAMP: Rich, sensual, musk-laced vanilla topped with tropical fruits and almonds over darkened myrrh. Hard to resist, but oh so good!
And my favourite scent… BEER AND BUTTER: A delicious and foamy elixir! Creamy butterscotch, dreamy vanilla, and a dash of pumpkin layered with a drop of coffee as you sit relaxing by the pub’s roaring fire.
Couple that with a box of ZIMT Artisan Petite bon-bons and you’re set!! 🙂
