Got this letter from Amanda:

Hi Sarah 🙂 I’m a big admirer of yours (not in a weird way) and I was wondering if I could get a smidge bit of advice from you…what do you do when someone tells you that what you do won’t make a difference since you are only one person?

Here’s my response. Too harsh? 🙂

Tell them that they have a horrible attitude and if everyone thought the way they did that the world would be a terrible place to live. 🙁 Then give them a hug and ask them to start living up to their potential instead of sitting on their duff being an armchair cynic. And if it’s your Grandma. Do it politely. 🙂

I love that! And if I have the guts to say it some day, I will let you know immediately, because it would feel pretty damn good.

Tell them you’re not one person, you’re one of millions of people worldwide all making a difference by their individual actions.

Then tell them this story. http://www.starfishdifference.com/

Then tell them to go suck it. :o)

Best.Response.Ever. I can’t wait to say/do this to the very next person to say that to me! And now to find the perfect snarky response to the infinite stream of people that ask me how I get protein.
