Vancoooouver – part 3

Got home from the party about 11:30pm and before I could even put my jacket down my Dad started yelling at me for being late and told me I was grounded. *laugh* He’s so funny …

The next morning we had a leisurely breakfast (Yay more famous Kramer/Ball oatmeal) and sat around reading the NY Times and talking about our upcoming trip to Hawaii (for my Dad’s birthday). We decided to go for a walk on the Sea Wall in West Vancouver and it was a perfect day for it.

A little chilly but once we started walking it was nice as pie.

I was going to hit Ikea on the way home but TRAFFIC was insane so I just headed to the ferry and managed to catch a beautiful sunset as I headed towards the terminal. IMG_0864

Since I had 10lbs of Daiya Cheese in the back of the car I stopped at a local supermarket as soon as I got back to the island and bought some bread. I also noticed my 2010 Calendar on display and immediately spread it out so it dominated the rack! YOUR MISSION (should you choose to accept it) is to do the same thing. Just don’t get caught – but do send me a photo of you doing it.  🙂IMG_0869

I got home and handed Gerry the Daiya Cheese and you should have seen his face. You’d think it was the 2nd coming of Christ. *laugh* We immediately made a stack of grilled cheese sandwiches. (forgot to take a photo) and it is amazing stuff!! Daiya melts great and (from what I remember) has the same gooeyness and texture as cheese. My only complaint is that it’s really mild … I’d like it to have a bit more bite but I’m SO HAPPY to have a vegan cheese that is also SOY FREE! Woot!

It also freezes well so my plan is to put it into 1 cup baggies and store it in the freezer. Maybe I should become a dealer. *laugh* Yesterday I had Beans on Toast with Daiya Cheese on top. Last night we had Nachos. I think tonight for dinner I’m going to make macaroni and cheese. WOOT!

You can purchase Daiya from Karmavore Store (they do mail order). I think they’re currently sold out … but e-mail them and I’m sure they’ll let you know when the next shipment is in.

Thanks again for the fun weekend Vancouver. You’re awesome. 🙂
